In Full Bloom and East Coast Callas has teamed up in 2011. The idea of a hydroponic greenhouse was conceived when John Cornicello, of East Coast Callas and Janene Puca, of In Full Bloom brainstormed together, did some research and development of growing mini callas in their lab room. The results were so impressive that we decided to go ahead and plan the construction of the greenhouse. We broke ground in October of 2010 and now in August of 2011, we are almost looking at a fully operational hydroponic greenhouse. In weeks to come the greenhouse will be filled with 40,000 mini callas. This growing method using a water solution and a pea gravel medium benefits the plants vibrancy strength, shape producing a perfect mini calla in about 4 weeks.

Hydroponic farming is the garden of the future. There are several companies using rooftops of buildings in

cities throughout the US. They are growing produce, flowers, herbs for local business. And better yet, the

hydroponic method produces tastier fruit and veggies and vibrant flowers. We will be the only grower of

hydroponic flowers on the East Coast!

I must admit when clients say flowers are your expertise, I must agree.
There is nothing better than when a client gives me full rein over their floral projects or weddings. That's when I am most creative with color and flower selections. But I have to give credit to my salespeople at my supplier for bringing us quality flowers from all over the world. I deal with a few vendors but I have my favorites! I always look forward to the trips to the wholesaler to see what came in for the week. The advantage of handpicking is you can see, feel , smell the different flowers. It's worth the trip everytime!

Trends of 2009

Once a year I find myself creating a tablescape and theme for the Annual "Septemberfest" here in my home town. It's always been exciting to plan a "tablescape" look. This look grabs the attention of many for the day and a great way to market the business in the community. This year I plan to create a look that was inspired from the American Floral Trends Forecast 2009.

The look primarily focuses on the "Habitat" trend inspired by nature, botanical prints, birds, nests, eggs, specimen plants, mosses and lichens, modern British floral patterns. I plan to introduce a bit of color with the "Nocturne" trend as well. "Grayed purples, plums and roses."

A bit of Haute Couture with an eclectic twist!

In Full Bloom will stand out once again at this year's Annual Septemberfest of 2008.
